For Shaylee got her mothers brains. She was the smartest young lady in her grade, heck she was the smartest girl in her kindergarten. She was a very wonderful girl. At the age of ten she got her hogwarts letter and she was extremly excited. Her mother took her to Diagon Alley to get all of her school supplies, her mother even let her pick out a pet. It was the best day of her life, In August she was in her way to the best school in the world with her beautiful black cat Lady Calico. At Hogwarts she was sorted into the House of Gryffindor which her parents loved. Sure she hadn't been put into ravenclaw or slytherin but no matter what house she was in her parents supported her. Her first year was amazing meeting new friends and going through her classes and minding her buisness. She was the top in her class and that was all that was important to her. She went through school minding her own buisness and staying clean. It was hard because she had her fathers pranking side. She loved to prank the teachers and students as well. In her sixth year she tried out for the quiddatch team. She loved her classes and quiddatch. Even though she was smart she wasnt a big nerd. She had fun and loved to go to hogwarts with her friends. Now its back to her hogwarts for her seventh year at hogwarts. It was, thankfully it was now a very bright and sunny saturday morning. With that in mind she walked down to the great hall for some breakfast. As she walked in she grabbed a cup of coffee, and a bagel before walking out of the hall and towards the black lake. As she got to the black lake she smiled and plopped down by a beautiful oak tree. She took a deep breath of her favorite smell and a sip of coffee. She looked out towards the lake and smiled. This was why she loved Hogwarts. The coffee, the bagel, and the beautiful black lake. She loved the atmosphere. She smiled and looked through her bag for a piece of parchment and her quill. She began to write as she always did when she came to the black lake. Stories, music, poetry, and of course just random quotes. She was in her own little space. She was in her peaceful place. Hello and welcome to Young Blood! Before Kat and I can accept your application, we have noticed a few things in your application that need tweaking.

Positives: We enjoy a few aspects of her appearance that you've given her, like the situation with her feet. We also think that she's a very good base for a character. She just needs a bit of development.

First, your general appearance is much too short. You've given us a very vague picture on what exactly she looks like. What details you have given us, we like. However, we must request that you expand on them. How does she hold herself? What is her stature like? How do other people view her? etc. "Beautiful" tells us how she may be perceived, but it doesn't describe to us what your character looks like. Also, you state that she's in her 5th year at the beginning, and then in the history tell us that she's starting her 7th year. Which is it?

Her personality garners a bit of contradiction. You mention that one of her weaknesses is studying, and yet she manages to be "destined for greatness" and at the top of her class. What does being destined for greatness mean? Who decided that? Why do people believe that? How do other people view her as being wonderful when she can be seen as being "mean" sometimes. One of the major problems that Kat and I can view in this application is that Shaylee comes off as very Mary-Sueish. You talk about how great, beautiful and accomplished she is; how wonderful she is at everything, how everyone views her as wonderful. If she stays to herself most times, why does she have so many friends? You state in your history that she is not only at the top of her class, that she also is on the Quidditch team as well. Why all these outspoken, rigorous activites if she is supposed to be withdrawn? Why the pranks if she's reserved? Why are the professors wrapped around her fingers when she pranks them? As well, it is established in canon that Hermione Granger is near, if not top, of the class in Gryffindor.

It's so hard to understand who she is because of all this conflicting information. You make her seem as if she is wonderful, and then state along the lines of how people somehow can't stand her, as well as she doesn't care what they think. Why does she not care? Why don't people like her attitude? We need a little more consistency in this as well. Also, if she is all about pureblood status, then why does she involve herself with muggle books or muggle clothes?

With her history, we'd like to understand how and why her mother and father are considered the best Auror and Healer. We feel as if you're taking liberties with this information. They can be very skilled, they'd have to be in those professions, but to make outright statements that they are regarded as the best is a bit off-putting. As well, we wonder why she was bullied in Kindergarten for being different while being considered a wonderful and exceptionally talented student as well? You also mention that she started exhibiting magical talents at a very young age. What sort of magic? What happened exactly? What did other people notice about her that made them think she was a freak?

We would also like to remind you that the minimum of this site is a 200wc. Your sample does come up at 216, which is fine, but we wouldn't suggest scraping the minimum the entire time you are here.

As stated earlier, she is a good base. However, it is the opinion of Kat and I that she needs to be developed more before she can be accepted here. We suggest sitting back, listening to music, and thinking about her a little more. Envision, at first, what she looks like in your mind. Flesh out her appearance, how she typically seems. Then, move on to what's inside. Think about what her motivations are, what her weaknesses are, what certain things about her pop up that speak to you as to what sort of person she is. Dive into her psychology and see what you can come up with. :)
