Being raised to respect education as a means to securing a better life, Hermione began studying and even practicing a few spells before most other First Years. Before her first year at Hogwarts had started she had already met Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley, and even exchanged words. She didn't realize how much her life would change by meeting them at this point, and really so couldn't anybody. In her first year of Hogwarts Hermione had been attacked by a troll let into Hogwarts by Professor Quirrel, who was at that point possessed by Lord Voldemort. After being saved by Harry and Ron the trio became inseparable and later that year she saved them both from the traps set for them to protect the Sorceror's Stone. During her second year at Hogwarts Hermione was unable to physically help Harry and Ron defeat the Baskilisk, but gave Harry the means to discover it before being petrified by it. In her third year she acquired a rare Time Turner device that allowed her to take several classes at once, a sign of her deep desire for education. By the end of the year she had to use the device to save Harry, his godfather Sirius Black, and the hippogriff Buckbeak. She later turned in the Time Turner due to the overwhelming mental fatigue of constantly trying to control time. Hermione and Ron were one of the first to know of Lord Voldemort's return during her fourth year after Harry met him during the Triwizard's Tournament. Then in her fifth year fought against Voldemort's loyalist henchmen within the Ministry of Magic itself. In the sixth year of Hogwarts she realized she would have to devote herself fully to Harry to defeat Voldemort once and for all after the school was taken over by Death Eaters. Afterwards she, Harry, and Ron agreed to leave the school on what should of been their last year to travel the world in search of Voldemort's Horcuxes and help put an end to Voldemort. Harry would be Ron teaching the ropes about Quidditch for most of the evening so she figured she'd have a couple hours of peace to do her homework. Just as she rounded a corner to an empty corridor she let out a small shriek which caused her to drop one of her books. Then another, before the last one followed with a loud thud on the stone floor. She sighed in relief as her hand found her chest to feel her quickly beating heart. "Goodness Nick, you startled me!" she spoke as she reached down to scoop up her books. "Oh I am sorry Miss Granger, I wish I could help you pick those up," Nearly Headless Nick said as he watched her struggle to get each book back into position between her hands so she could carry them with ease. "It's fine, I should be used to ghosts coming through the walls by now," Hermione giggled softly as she fit the last book into place between her fingers, "thank you though." Nick smiled back in return, nodding. "I wish I could stay and chat but I fear I must be off somewhere, see you at the next Feast!" the ghost bowed before drifting off into the wall adjacent from which he came. Saying her own farewells Hermione continued her way back up towards to the Gryffindor Tower, speaking the password to the portrait of the Fat Lady before making her way into the common room. It was quite empty and quiet tonight, she figured mostly everybody were at the Quidditch stadium. With a soft sigh and a smile she ran up into the girls' dormitory to drop off her books and bag before rushing back down the stairs and through the portrait hole and towards the stadium. Homework was much better with company, she decided. Plus it was especially fun when Harry and Ron begged her for answers and corrections. Raising her chin up high and her smile widening, Hermione continued her way to the Gryffindor practice session outside. Hi Hermione! (We, by the way, would like you to use your out of character name as an alias!)

As a whole, I believe there is a lot lacking in this application. You've scraped the edges of a major canon. Out of all the characters available, Hermione has so much development, extensive characteristics, and shaping history that just is not touched upon here. You didn't even describe her history pre-Hogwarts. A good deal of her history takes place after this time period (so it should not in this application). Her personality feels feels halfhearted and several factors in her appearance need to be retouched (a young woman, standing 5'11" would not weigh 110 pounds).

Your example post should not include other characters. We would like to see an example post that is entirely from your character. The first and last paragraphs are really the only parts of the post that we would accept.
