Waiting... {daphne/open}

She’d been trying to locate her sister but was having very little luck in that department. Astoria had ordered something special just for her sister, no reason behind it really or maybe there was, maybe there was the reason to simply be able to sit and chat with her sister for a brief moment and have a decent conversation with her for few minutes, that’s all she wanted, the conversation didn’t even have to be about anything important, hell it could be about what or rather whom Daphne was flirting with and who she saw as pretty at the moment or had taken her fancy or who was hitting on her or what was the in fashion she did not care.

It seemed liked forever since she got to talk to her sister and she was feeling a little alone about it for she did love Daphne ever so even if the girl did annoy her and she did want to hex her at times, she was her sister and if she didn’t hate her at times then what kind of relationship would they have really. The perfume bottle was wrapped in a box, Astoria had even used her own money to buy it, the very perfume Daphne had been going on about, though if her sister did not want it then Astoria would keep it for herself or maybe better yet send it to their mother though she hoped her sister would like it, would be such a shame if she did not and it was no cheap perfume either, Astoria had gone without buying her own sweets for the month to get her sister this bottle.

She sat on the green sofa in the common room waiting to see her sister walk through the round door and enter the room so she could jump at her to talk and open her gift up. She knew her sister loved presents, unlike Astoria, well no Astoria liked them if it was for the right reason, she mainly liked gifts that were a surprise rather than one that was expected so she was hoping this surprise would have her sister happy for a bit.

((lol....right..well..the staff moved it here, so we can just say it is summer, maybe early summer, like the first week they were back home or something...not that that detail matters terribly ;) ...but I will say living room, instead of common room, since they're at the house)))

Daphne was in a pleasant enough mood after having spent her morning shopping. She had left the house rather early this morning with her mum, and made sure to make the most of it. As usual, Daphne had her purchases sent off to the house, because she wasn't going to bother carrying her many bags. A bright smile appeared on her face as she came through the door to her home, with her mother walking in just before her. The older woman said that she had things to do today, and would not like to be bothered if it could be helped. Daph simple shrugged and went off to the parlor to sit down. She was rather tired after her burst of energy, and when you shopped as much as Daphne did, in such a short time frame, one could wear themselves out.

To her surprise, she spotted her sister sitting down. What was the younger girl doing sitting her like this anyway? Was she waiting on some lame friend of hers to show up? Daph hoped so, maybe then the girl would get out of the house, and she could invite Pansy or Blaise over. Smiling at the thought, Daphne took a seat beside her sister. "Hey." she said cheerfully. It wasn't like she actually hated Astoria, the younger girl just annoyed her most of the time. "What have you been up to?" Daph questioned making sisterly conversation.

She seemed to have been waiting all morning for her sister to come home and had to wonder what the girl was doing, it's not like she would be seeing a boy the girl would be talking about it all morning no doubt rubbing in the fact guys were more interested in her than Astoria and Astoria use to be ok with that afterall what interest could she possibly have in guys, they were well... guys. No it had recently been over the break she had noticed a few guys here and there and was utterly confused with herself, since when did she ever take a fancy in the opposite sex not that she ever took a fancy in the same sex. No, no she was certain Daphne was not seeing a male so that left a few other options, she doubted her sister needed a make-over already which left shopping, ah yes shopping seemed like the more reasonable answer to all of the others.

Sure enough her sister was home as she heard the front door close and smiled a little sitting up straight. In all honesty she assumed her mother would walk through but it was not her mother instead her sister sat beside her breaking Astoria's concentration on a flower over in the distance as she blinked and turned to face Daphne who was now beside her. A small smile spread across her face though she had to wonder how much money had she spent this time. "You really shouldn't keep people waiting you know, someone might deem it as rude one day"

[/color] she advised her sister though in all honesty didn't expect her to take it on.

"Anyway I am glad you are home..."[/color] she added waving her hand in the air before she bent over and pulled out the gift she had wrapped up "I got you something... with my own money and all and I do hope you like it... it was not easy to find at first either I had to hunt high and low for it, found it up high though, the sales woman had to help me get it off the shelf" she added laughing a little. Astoria handed the package over to her sister waiting for her to open it. She was certain she had been making the most of her time this summer than Daphne had been but hey Daphne did it doing what she loved she had to give her sister that much. "So what did you buy today?"[/b] she questioned innocently enough.

"And who may I ask is waiting on me?" Danphe inquired casually. Tori was delusional if she thought Daph cared about people thinking she was rude. People should wait on her if they had to, because she'd obviously be delayed by something more important. The blond was certain that she was important enough to be waited on. Tilting her head slightly she tried to remember if shed agreed to meet someone. When nobody came to mind, she looked at her sister and shrugged. "I don't remember making plans." she said leaning back.

Something was up, Daphne was sure of it. As awesome as she believed herself to be, she was not convinced that her sister was so happy to see her just because she loved her, No, the child must want something. Despite knowing this, Daph smirked when sister handed over a small box. At least Astoria realized the importance of gifts and flattery to get what she wanted,

Before opening her present, Daph smiled at yer younger sister."What do you want?" she asked sounding amused. It was clear to Daphne that her sister was after something, jewelry, or maybe a dress? "Tell me now, then I'll open your attempt to bribe me." the girl added with a small laugh.

She had to stop herself from giving her sister an eye roll. “No one is waiting on you but I was waiting for you”

[/color] she added and folded her arms crossing her legs, she was certain one day her sister was going to get knocked off her feet with her attitude and extensive shopping and everything else, karma was going to come around to Daphne and Astoria wouldn’t be able to do anything but hand her sister a tissue or two… well no she might be able to do more but in many ways she felt it’s what her sister deserved, as much as she cared for her sister.

Astoria could not help but glare at her sister when she even suggested she wanted something, sure it would be nice if for a change her sister gave her something but it was all but an impossible wish. “You could always tell me what you have gotten me after all these times you’ve gone shopping…” she added raising an eyebrow and huffed a little before shaking her head.

“Seriously just open it… I don’t want anything in return other than a smile when you open it… hopefully you’ll smile anyway”[/color] she added and made a small face before letting her hands rest in her lap, was it so hard for her sister to just take the gift and not assume she wanted something in return… no wait, this was Daphne of course she thought such a thing, many pureblood women did be them Slytherin or not but in this case she, Astoria, really did not want anything in return, it was simply a gift she was giving her sister.

"Oh, well here I am." Daphne said smirking. The blond raised a brow at her younger sister, was she serious. The idea of Tori getting her any sort of gift, and expecting nothing in return was crazy in the older girls mind. Never the less, she couldn't keep from being curious about the gift that now sat unopened in her lap.

"I know I'm awesome, but you didn't to get me a gift. You're my sister, I make special allowances for you, and your adoration of my awesomeness." Daph said smirking, before opening the box. She was very surprised to see one of her favorite perfumes. Wow, Astoria had outdone herself with this one. A smile spread across her face, before turning to look at the younger girl beside her.

"I love it, but why did you get it? It's not my birthday." Daphne said seriously. The idea of Tori getting gift, just because she could sounded foreign to Daph.She cared a great deal about her little sister, but that didn't mean she'd go buying her some perfume for the fun of it. "Are you sure there isn't something you want?" Daph asked again eyeing her sister with slight suspension.

Astoria had to hold back a sigh, why couldn’t she just say thanks instead of all the stuff she was saying but alas if she made it simple then she wouldn’t be her sister now would she, no in some way she did expect this reaction and who was she kidding as if Daphne would not like her present of course she would, she had nothing to worry about there. She simply responded with a raised brow, maybe her sister was suffering from some concussion having shopped too much.

The very reaction her sister gave her was not too overdone, as expected but a smile of sorts was appreciated from Astoria’s point though her sister’s steadfast interrogation was not appreciated as Astoria’s face went blank and she narrowed her eyes a little letting out a small sigh “It’s just a gift but if it will ease your mind I suppose you could see it as a thanks for not dragging me off shopping… not that that has anything to do with your sister simply buying her sister a gift.”

Of course there was nothing she wanted from her sister or anyone else for that matter it was simply a nice gesture or so Astoria thought, she could do nice thinks when she wanted to. “Perhaps stop asking me as to why I got you the perfume”[/color] she added tilting her head a little “And you can show me what you bought today I have no desire to return to the book I was reading so come on… model for me… you know you want to”[/color] she added almost in a teasing matter though she was interested in seeing what her sister had brought after all Daphne had some fashion sense in Astoria’s mind, the two were very different even when it came to clothing.

Watching her younger sister with mild amusement, Daphne laughed. "Okay okay, I am awesome after all, so I shouldn't need a reason for my sisters admiration." the blond said smiling. Holding the new bottle out from her body, Daph sprayed the fragrance, and pushed herself forward into the sent. It smelled so good, and the older girl couldn't hide her happiness. Letting the bottle rest in her lap, she moved to hug her sister. "Thanks Tori, I really do love it." she said sincerely before pulling back.


"Model? Why would I want to do that?" Daphne said trying to seem serious. It was pointless however. The girl never turned down an opportunity to show herself off. The house elves were no exception, she'd demanded their attention from the first day she knew what shopping was. After Astoria was born, showing off her purchases was something Daph reserved for her sister, and her best friend, Pansy. Stashing the perform in the box, the blond stood up and grinned. "You know me too well, Astoria. Get comfortable, I'll be right back." she said before running off to her room.

Placing the box on her variety, Daphne quickly began looking through the purchases that had been sent to the house, and then to her room. So many things, she couldn't decide what to model first. After a small debate with herself, she chose an emerald green sequined top, and a black skirt. Once dressed, Daph nearly bounced downstairs to show off her new outfit. When she reached her sister, she did a little twirl. "Well?" she questioned with a gleam in her eye.
