The Marauder's themselves are currently starting their seventh year, but things are getting worse outside the walls of Hogwarts - and even within. Voldemort is gaining more power and the Death Eaters are becoming much more open about the cause. Even those that are currently still at the school are causing more trouble in the hope that they will please the Dark Lord before they join up.
There have also been rumours of people mysteriously disappearing... The Ministry has been covering it all up of course, hiding away the facts so as not to scare the country any more. But people are starting to notice.
There's a war going on, and its full of tainted magic.
